I never really considered myself a “blogger” because, in all honesty, when it comes to this kind of stuff, I’m not as confident. However, with the encouragement of my friend, Crystal, I decided to put my fears aside and give this new adventure a shot…
The Real Me
Many of you know me by my nickname, “Shae”, but my real name is Ashé (ah-shay) Mattis (formerly known as Ashé Lewis). I recently got married to my best friend, Antonio, and it has been a true bliss. I’m a 5’2 little being, living in a 6’0 body (lol, kidding) and I am twenty-seven years old. I live in Michigan and as of December 2020, I completed my master’s degree in Elementary Education at Grand Canyon University (GCU). My desire is to become a 4th grade teacher someday.
Growing up, I was raised in a pretty big family. My mother birthed four daughters (my three younger sisters and I) and one son (my little brother, who past away when he was born). On my father’s side, I have an additional brother and sister, who are much older than me. I also have a cousin in which I consider my big sister because she grew up with my sisters and I. Altogether, that makes a grand total of eight children. Yeah. I know. Doooope.
I would definitely say that I am an extrovert, but as of late, I’ve been tapping into my introverted ways. Sometimes you just need space, you know? Some of my favorite hobbies consist of spending time with loved ones, watching movies with the hubs, cooking, eating, singing, journaling, traveling and being surrounded by nature (i.e. going to the lake, hiking, camping, etc.). However, being in the presence of the Lord is my most favorite of them all. Come January 2023, it will mark a total of eight years of me attending The International Church of Metro Detroit!
Now that I’ve introduced myself to you, I would love to hear more about you. Where are you from? What are some of your most favorite hobbies?
Until next time, friends.
Xoxo
Sincerely,
Shae
